About the Event

Ozark Natural Science Center’s mission is to strengthen the understanding, appreciation and stewardship of land, water, and wildlife in the Ozarks.


The Bear Hollow Hootenanny is ONSC's annual fall event to celebrate live outdoor music, great food, and science and nature education.


We can't wait to see you for a weekend of music, activities, food, and fun on the beautiful, secluded ONSC campus.

Live Music: SprungBilly ~ Shannon Wurst Band ~ Still on the Hill ~ Kelly Hunt & Sara Morgan ~ Mountain Alice 


Lodging: Optional overnight accommodations are available. Stay in a private room in one of ONSC's lodges or at a campsite (tickets below). Rooms include single bed, 2 bunk beds, or 3 bunk beds. Purchase a room for between 1 and 6 guests. See descriptions and pictures of our facilities here: www.onsc.us/facilities


Meals: All meals are included in the ticket prices. ONSC is pleased to accommodate food allergies and dietary preferences.


Beverages: Drinks are complementary (alcohol and non-alcohol) and have been donated by Pepsi Co, Black Apple Cider, and Ozark Beer Co


Raffle: Buy raffle tickets to bid on your favorite items! We'll be offering an assortment of outdoorsy, foody, creative items. You can purchase raffle tickets ahead of time, or at the door. Raffle drawings will happen at 7:30pm on Saturday. Must be present to win.


Tickets: 

  • $100 Full Weekend Pass

  • $75 Saturday Full Day Pass

  • $50 Saturday Evening Pass (3:30pm-midnight)

  • Kids under 18 are free. Please register by ordering a free ticket below

  • Volunteer tickets include a free weekend pass in exchange for a 4-hour volunteer shift. Volunteers must be 13 years or older, and all children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent.


Shuttle: Optional shuttle from Fayetteville, Springdale, and Rogers on Friday and Saturday (locations TBD). Shuttle will only run if we reach our minimum ticket sales.

Friday

  • Optional overnight lodging


Saturday

  • 9 - 10am: Check-in, camp setup

  • 10am - 12pm: Educational classes and guided hikes

  • 12pm - 12:45pm: Lunch

  • 1 - 1:30pm: Hike to Rookard House

  • 1:30 - 2:30pm: Still on the Hill (Rookard House Porch Stage)

  • 2:30 - 3:30pm: Optional guided hike (leaves from Rookard House)

  • 4 - 5:00pm: Kelly Hunt & Sara Morgan (BHH Stage)

  • 5 - 6pm: Dinner

  • 6 - 7:15pm: Shannon Wurst Band (BHH Stage)

  • 7:30pm: Raffle drawings

  • 7:30 - 9pm: Sprungbilly (BHH Stage)

  • 9 - 10pm: Astronomy activities in the field

  • 9 - 11pm: Campfire jam (bring your instruments!)

  • Optional overnight lodging


Sunday

  • 7 - 9am - Breakfast

  • 8 - 9am - Yoga in the Smith Education Building

  • 9:15 - 9:30am - Hike to Rookard House

  • 9:30 - 10:30am - Mountain Alice (Rookard House Porch Stage)

  • 10:30 - 10:45am - Hike back to main campus

  • 11am - 12pm: Memorial Tree Dedication for Tom and Lisa Edmiston

  • 12 - 1pm: Memorial lunch


About Ozark Natural Science Center: ONSC offers a unique, immersion-based approach to learning about nature and the natural sciences. Students visit us for authentic science learning experiences that are correlated with national and state science learning standards and provide in-depth education in biology, ecology, geology, social studies, and nature art – all while students have fun hiking and experiencing nature. Camp activities include  hikes, team-building, games, art, and small-group activities.


Ticket Refund Policy

  • Refunds up to 1 week before the event: Tickets are refundable minus any applicable fees (processing, administrative, etc.) until 7 days before the event.

  • Refunds within 1 week of the event: For refund requests made less than 7 days prior to the event, a 50% refund will be issued

  • No refunds within 24 hours of the event: Refund requests made within 24 hours of the event are not permitted, except in exceptional circumstances and only with approval from ONSC administration.

  • Please note that all refund requests must be submitted in writing, and refunds will be processed within 7-10 business days.
