Join Ozark Natural Science Center staffĀ and guest birders on Saturday, May 9th, for a special guided birding hikeĀ at our ONSC Lake Fayetteville campusĀ in honor of World Migratory Bird Day!


As we explore the diverse habitats around Lake Fayetteville, we’ll search for a dazzling array of migrant birdsĀ returning to or passing through our area—including warblers, vireos, tanagers, orioles, and flycatchers!


This is a fantastic opportunity to learn from expert birders while enjoying a morning in nature.


Don't miss this chance to connect with nature, spot incredible migratory birds, and celebrate World Migratory Bird DayĀ with fellow birding enthusiasts! šŸŒŽšŸ¦

ā³ Hike Time:Ā 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

šŸ Departure: 11:15 AM


What to Expect & Bring

šŸ”­ Binoculars. If you have your own, please bring them. ONSC will have some available to borrow.

šŸ‘Ÿ Wear comfortable walking shoes

🧢 Bring water, sun protection, and weather-appropriate clothing

šŸš—Directions: Ozark Natural Science Center at Lake Fayetteville, 599 E Lakeview Dr, Springdale.

Ticket Information

  • Adult tickets (18 & up) - $10

  • Teen tickets (12-17) = $5

  • Children 12 and under = Free

    • All participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.


      All proceeds go to support research, community science, and education at Ozark Natural Science Center.

You’re also invited to join our Lake Fayetteville WorkdayĀ after the hike from 12:00 PM – 4:00PM. If you plan to attend both events, just bring a packed lunch to enjoy between the hike and the workday 🄪


šŸ”— Registration for the workday is separate and free! Click here to let us know you will be staying for the workday!


šŸ•’ Schedule:

  • 8:45–9:00 AM – Hike check-in and prep

  • 9:00–11:00 AM – Guided hike

  • 11:00–11:15 AM – Restrooms & tick check

  • 11:15 AM–12:00 PM – Lunch break (bring your own or plan to go grab lunch nearby)

  • 12:00–4:00 PM – Volunteer Workday

About Ozark Natural Science CenterĀ 


ONSC offers a unique, immersion-based approach to learning about nature and the natural sciences. Students visit us for authentic science learning experiences that are correlated with national and state science learning standards and provide in-depth education in biology, ecology, geology, social studies, and nature art – all while students have fun hiking and experiencing nature. Camp activities include Ā hikes, team-building, games, art, and small-group activities.

Ticket Refund Policy


  • Refunds up to 1 week before the event:Ā Tickets are refundable minus any applicable fees (processing, administrative, etc.) until 7 days before the event.

  • Refunds within 1 week of the event:Ā For refund requests made less than 7 days prior to the event, a 50% refund will be given.

  • No refunds within 24 hours of the event: Refund requests made within 24 hours of the event are not permitted, except in exceptional circumstances and only with approval from ONSC administration.


*Please note that all refund requests must be submitted in writing to info@onsc.us. Refunds will be processed within 7-10 business days.
