Join us to help prepare our Lake Fayetteville for our annual Call of the Wild event! We will be doing yard work and cleaning the inside of the building! All ages welcome!

🌱 Call of the Wild Workday at Lake Fayetteville

📍 ONSC Lake Fayetteville Campus | 599 E. Lakeview Dr, Springdale, AR
Join us for an afternoon of hands-on stewardship as we give our Lake Fayetteville campus some TLC before our annual Call of the Wild event! 💪🌳 Volunteers will help with a variety of projects that support the health, safety, and beauty of our outdoor spaces.

🛠️ Volunteer Activities May Include:
Litter pick-up 🗑️
Raking the lawn
Cleaning the inside of the building
Invasive and nuisance species removal
Weeding and maintenance of native plant garden spaces 🌼
Sweeping outdoor deck areas
Cutting and clearing fallen wood from trails
Trail maintenance (primarily pruning and lopping; possible weed-whacking)
🎒 What to Bring:
Refillable water bottle 💧
Snacks
Work gloves
Work boots or sturdy closed-toe shoes
Tools, if you have them (rakes, hand saws, chainsaws, wood-splitting tools, pruners, loppers, extractors, etc.)
Extra tools will be provided.
👨👩👧 Youth Volunteers:
All volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the workday. This is a great opportunity to gain volunteer hours for graduation requirements!
🌿 Make a Day of It!
You’re also invited to join our World Migratory Bird Hike earlier that morning from 9:00–11:00 AM. If you plan to attend both events, just bring a packed lunch to enjoy between the hike and the workday 🥪

🕒 Schedule:
8:45–9:00 AM – Hike check-in and prep
9:00–11:00 AM – Guided hike
11:00–11:15 AM – Restrooms & tick check
11:15 AM–12:00 PM – Lunch break (bring your own or plan to go grab lunch nearby)
12:00–4:00 PM – Volunteer Workday

About Ozark Natural Science Center
ONSC offers a unique, immersion-based approach to learning about nature and the natural sciences. Students visit us for authentic science learning experiences that are correlated with national and state science learning standards and provide in-depth education in biology, ecology, geology, social studies, and nature art – all while students have fun hiking and experiencing nature. Camp activities include hikes, team-building, games, art, and small-group activities.
