Fall Lake Fayetteville Litter Cleanup

Help us keep Lake Fayetteville (and the downstream Illinois River) beautiful and clean by joining us on Saturday, September 13th from 8:30-11:30am for a litter cleanup day!

Bring your water bottle, work gloves, work boots, and dress for the weather. If you want to help collect litter along the lakeshore, feel free to also bring rubber boots or waders. Trash grabbers, trash (and recycling) bags, water, snacks, and other supplies will be provided.

The majority of the clean up efforts from our location will be land-based, around the campus, along our hiking trails, and along Powell St. However, if you have your own kayak, feel free to bring it to our ONSC @ Lake Fayetteville location, and we will help you get your boat into the water from our dock to do some water-based clean up. (For anyone else wanting to help with water-based clean up, you would have to go to the Marina check-in site to borrow a boat from there.)
