About the Event
Discover the timeless art of fire-making. This class offers an immersive experience where participants will learn how to create fire using several traditional methods. Our expert instructor, Jim O’Connor, will guide you through each technique, providing tips and tricks to ensure your success. At the end of the class, there will be an optional hour-long practice session, allowing you to refine your newly acquired skills and gain confidence in your fire-making abilities. Join us for this unique opportunity to connect with ancient survival skills and harness the primal power of fire!
Children under 14 must be accompanied by a ticketed adult.
Class schedule:
9 - 11am: Lecture, presentation, and demonstration
11am - 12pm – Optional practice time with instructor tips
What to Bring: water bottle, long pants, close-toed shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing.

About the Instructor:
James (Jim) O'Connor has been an active outdoorsman throughout most of his life. He often foraged and explored with family throughout the Midwest during his upbringing and had continued that tradition ever since. Jim participates in several non profit organizations and greatly values education for the outdoors and wilderness skills. He is also a certified Wilderness First Responder
