Spring Wildflower Hike led by ONSC's Teacher Naturalists
Come out to Ozark Natural Science Center (ONSC) for our Spring Wildflower Hike! The spring ephemerals will be emerging, so don’t miss a chance to go out on a wildflower tour led by our Program Manager, Liz Hill, and Teacher Naturalist staff. Along with providing magnificent photo opportunities, the Wildflower Hike will help you learn to identify some of our native Ozark flowers, as well as some fun facts about various flowers’ edibility and historical medicinal uses. The hike is approximately 1-1.5 miles long, primarily along the beautiful Bear Hollow Creek, and includes some moderate elevation change over uneven, rocky terrain. Participants are asked to wear appropriate hiking clothing: long pants and closed-toed shoes, and bring a reusable water bottle and a snack. Cost includes admission fee of $15 pp. Hike time: 9:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Add one hour for travel time (as listed). Transportation, meeting location and directions will be sent to participants in their class reminder. Activity Level: 3
OLLI Members: $39.00 (CR) / $55.00 (TR)

Spring Birding Hike led by ONSC's Teacher Naturalists
Join ONSC for a spring birding hike in anticipation of World Migratory Bird Day! Whether you are a birding beginner or have years of experience, we would love to have you out to our campus in the Bear Hollow Natural Area to look for some of the beautiful birds as they return to our region. This hike will go through a variety of habitats on our Boti trail, including patches of Ozark glades, oak hickory forest, and mixed oak pine forests, and it has one of the very best overlook views at ONSC! The hike will be approximately 1-1.5 miles, and there is moderate elevation change over some uneven, rocky terrain. Bring your own binoculars or borrow some of ONSC’s to try to spot the birds coming through and to the Ozarks. Please wear appropriate hiking clothing: long pants and closed-toe-shoes, bring a reusable water bottle and a snack. Cost includes admission fee of $15 pp. Hike time is 9:30 - 12:30 / Add one hour for travel time (as listed). Transportation, meeting location and directions will be sent to participants in their class reminder regardless of which option they choose. Activity Level: 3
