🌿 2026 Lake Fayetteville Spring Cleanup

Make a difference in the Lake Fayetteville Watershed by helping tackle litter around the park.

Join the Lake Fayetteville Watershed Partnership, Ozark Natural Science Center, and the City of Fayetteville for a day of hands-on stewardship. Volunteers will help remove litter from trails, park areas, and shorelines, with special emphasis on collecting debris already in the lake.

When signing up, let us know how you’d like to participate (on land or water) and if you’ll be bringing or borrowing equipment.


💧 Ways to Get Involved

  • 🥾 Clean along muddy banks (rain boots, muck boots, or hip waders recommended)

  • 🛶 Bring your own canoe or kayak to paddle the shoreline (Check-in at ONSC @ Lake Fayetteville)

  • 🚣 Borrow a kayak (Check-in at the Marina; limited availability)

  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Join individually or with friends and family to clean designated litter “hot spots”

  • 🤝 Volunteer as a group—contact us in advance for assigned cleanup areas and prepared supplies

  • ♻️ Assist with event recycling or end-of-day breakdown

  • Supplies, instructions, and cleanup assignments provided at check-in

  • Light snacks available for volunteers

  • Outdoor, hands-on service in a variety of park settings

Please bring:

  • 💧 Refillable water bottle

  • 👟 Closed-toe, supportive footwear

  • 🧥 Weather-appropriate clothing

🌧️Weather Policy

The cleanup will proceed in light rain. In the event of thunder, lightning, or severe weather, the start time may be delayed or the event postponed. Updates will be shared on the City of Fayetteville and Lake Fayetteville Watershed Partnership Facebook pages.
