About the Event
Join us as a volunteer at one or more of our Summer Day Camps at the new ONSC at Lake Fayetteville Location. RSVP to be a volunteer with whichever camp/s you are available, and Liz Hill will reach out to you to find out what specific days and times you can actually help. The typical daily schedule is:
7:30-9:00 Arrival - Maker Space Crafts, Games
9:00 Prep for Field Investigation (Water Bottles, Restrooms, Journals & Field Guides, etc.)
9:15 Field Investigation w/Nature Journaling/Sit Spot
11:45 Return, tick check/bathrooms
12:00 Lunch (packed lunches)
1:00 Outdoor Games/recess
2/2:30/or 3:00 Science Lesson/Activity
3/3:30 or 4:00 Eco-art and activities
5:00-6:00 Pick-up, games
Some of the times we could especially use help with are the the drop-off and pick up times (supervising campers making things in the Maker Space and/or playing games), as extra adult chaperones on our morning field investigations, and during the outdoor games/recess activities after lunch.
